For November, MGS features the strings in exploration of Latin American string quartet works as well as more traditional works of the genre.
****Please Note this Concert is on a Saturday****
Celebrated for its ability to "beautifully blur the lines between, classical, Latin and world music” the Chicago-based KAIA String Quartet is an ensemble devoted to exposing audiences to the rich and colorful music of Latin America. KAIA recently completed their residency with WFMT, Chicago's classical radio station where they performed, curated, and exposed audiences to new ways of thinking about Latin American music. They have collaborated with Grammy winner Raúl Jaurena, the National Chamber Music Ensemble of Uruguay, Chicago’s Tangata ensemble, Chicago Summer Dance Festival and Grammy Award winning musician and composer Paquito D’Rivera.
Join Victoria, Naomi, Amanda, and Hope afterwards for a post-concert reception celebration!
