About This Event
UPDATE: This event is sold out!
Welcome to O.Henry magazine's special "Kickoff to Summer Reading" edition of our Author Series. We're hosting two book release parties — May 4 with Kristy Woodson Harvey and June 2 with Mary Kay Andrews — to get you ready for plopping your chair on a sandy shore. Dive into the perfect beach read with fellow book lovers as O.Henry magazine proudly hosts the launch of the latest novel from North Carolina's own Kristy Woodson Harvey, The New York Times-bestselling author of a dozen books. Enjoy two of our favorite things — books and bites — as Kristy gets us into a Summer State of Mind while you nosh in style on heavy hors d'ouevres crafted by Grandover Resort's creative chef and inspired by the book, of course! By attending this event, you will be one of the first to access this sizzling summer read as we are lucky enough to celebrate it the day before its public release!!!! In Summer State of Mind, burnt-out NICU nurse Daisy Stevens returns to Cape Carolina, looking for a new life — and possibly new romance. On her first day at her "simpler" job, high school baseball coach Mason Thaysden discovers an abandoned baby, sending ripples through the entire tight-knit town. Enjoy a sit-down style event, a menu crafted by the Grandover Resort chef, a selection of wine and a thrilling talk followed by a Q&A session and book signing. Your ticket includes your own signed copy of her book the day before it's out, your food and sips, and, of course, time well spent with Kristy and friends!
Please note, at checkout, you may choose to purchase a ticket to BOTH events and receive a discounted price and both books, each valued at $29.
See the details of our second event with Mary Kay Andrews here.
